A college coach watching your actual film is a different recruiting milestone from a form email. King Williams received that kind of response from Mt. San Antonio College in October 2026.
In a personal October 19 response to King’s family, Mt. San Antonio College assistant defensive line coach Donald Martin II confirmed he had reviewed King’s film. Coach Martin described King as having the potential to be a good fit for the program and explained that Mt. SAC’s defensive-line staff evaluates prospective 2027 student-athletes before advancing completed assessments for further staff review.
Not just an email delivered. A substantive evaluation response was received.
The next part of the conversation
Coach Martin’s response addressed position development, the prospect-evaluation process and paths toward four-year opportunities. On October 21, GRASP Program Coordinator Sapule Ta’amilo also responded with information about financial-aid exploration, housing resources, academic support and residency questions for out-of-state students. These were informative follow-ups, not an athletic grant or a guaranteed roster place.
King’s goal remains to find a program where he can grow technically as an interior defender, succeed academically and compete toward the highest level he can earn. Mt. SAC’s correspondence marks a meaningful contact in that search.
Recruiting status: film reviewed; substantive coach response received; further evaluation and conversations remain open. No roster offer from Mt. SAC has been documented.
