What matters first: Finish high school, stay on top of grades, ask coaches for honest film feedback, confirm costs before committing and protect future transfer eligibility. This guide is a plan—not an offer, admission decision or eligibility clearance.

PRIORITY #1 · STRONGEST DEVELOPMENT PATH

If I go JUCO first…

I can work toward a two-year college roster, improve academically, build college defensive-line film and prepare for a possible NCAA or NAIA transfer. I must choose classes that transfer.

    Before I pick a school

Three questions I have to answer.

    1. Can I actually play?

A coach reply, a showcase invitation, a recruiting form, and a roster offer are not the same thing. Ask for a written assessment of the 2027 defensive-line needs, athletic eligibility and roster process.

    2. Can I afford it?

Compare total tuition, fees, housing, meals, books, travel and real grants. California JUCOs do not award athletic scholarships. Other JUCO systems have different rules. Scholarships, aid and admission all need written confirmation.

    FEDERAL STUDENT AID

    3. Will my classes transfer?

Never assume any random course counts for NCAA eligibility or toward a future bachelor’s degree. Meet with the JUCO academic advisor and the destination school's compliance office before committing to a transfer plan.

    4. Is the offer what it sounds like?

King has a roster-spot letter from the Salt River Scorpions program; before treating it like a college scholarship or a transferable academic pathway, verify the institution, accreditation, financial terms, roster spot and eligibility consequences directly.
